John H. Van Lenten, Esq.

John H. Van Lenten is the most recent addition to the firm’s legal team, coming to us after sharpening his talent with reputable law firms throughout Southwest Connecticut. John has acquired almost thirty years of experience in complex litigation and appellate matters, and in recent years has devoted his professional efforts largely to Family and Matrimonial Law.

John began his career practicing predominantly commercial and civil litigation, including acting as Special Counsel to a Connecticut Native American Tribe. He would then serve as a law clerk to the Hon. Barry R. Schaller of the Connecticut Appellate Court, where he assisted in the drafting of numerous opinions and further honed his substantial research skills.

Throughout his career John has represented everyone from a major media corporation on appeal to defendants in medical malpractice cases. His comprehensive background includes representing clients on successful appeal in cases such as Dallaire v. Hsu, 130 Conn. App. 599 (2011); Pena v. Gladstone, 168 Conn. App. 141 (2016) and Southbury Land Trust, Inc. v. Andricovich, 59 Conn. App. 785 (2000).

John’s demonstrated expertise in such areas as corporate and contract law have informed his practice of matrimonial and family law in high net-worth cases, and has allowed our firm to continue to provide our clients with the preeminent representation they expect and deserve.
